Another lovely story from BG Thomas set in Kansas City. Bianca is the young daughter of Gavin, married and subsequently divorced when he discovered that he was really attracted to men. Gavin and Bianca have a close loving relationship, but the person who really completes the family circle is Curtis, a gorgeous hunk of a man who befriended Gavin after his divorce. Curtis has previously had unsuccessful and short-lived relationships with women, and longs to have a real family of his own. Gavin has feelings for Curtis, but Curtis seems completely oblivious to the opportunity for happiness that is right under his nose. Of course, the only way in which all of this can be sorted out is when Bianca decides to take matters into her own hands and to find her daddy a husband ... There is all the wonderful well-rounded characterisation that we have come to expect from BG Thomas, as well as the element of surprise that makes his stories so rewarding. And, equally delightfully, characters from some of his other novels turn up here too. Sweet friends to lovers m/m story. And i enjoyed the cameos from characters i've met in other books by BG Thomas.
Sometimes you don't know who you are and consequently how easy it could be to find your dream. Curtis finally figures it out, with a little help. It's not a mystery, but it is a well told story.
I bought Bianca's Plan because I adore the author, and hadn't gotten around to reading his work. It was a heartwarming story and the writing was superb. It was a little formulaic BUT that totally worked, and it was exactly the type of story I was looking for. I always wish great stories were longer, but it's definitely a story I could read again and again.
This was a very nice book. I was a bit confused on the first page, but right after the author identifed everyone, it was a nice read. I also loved the fact that there were no excessive sex scenes in the book. There was only 1 sex scene and it was very tastefully done. Great job!
Relatively few surprises in the plot but that's OK. This one works well enough, and I was looking for something for christmas with that happily-ever-after (HEA) ending that helps make it Christmas. I've already watched "It's a Wonderful Life" and two different versions of Dickens Christmas Carol, so now I'm set - unless you have one more Christmas M/M story to recommend?
This is an excellent short novella (maybe it's actually a "long short story"). Either way, it works very well. The author has a facility with words that is refreshing, his characters seem real, the situations don't feel contrived or arbitrary, and the emotions ring true. And I really loved the internal dialogues! - funny and touching at the same time. "Bianca's Plan" is a quick, enjoyable read (reasonably priced for it's length), and I look forward to my next B.G. Thomas experience.
This is another story in the Kansas City series which began, for me, with "The Boy who came in from the Cold". Now that I've read all of the series to date, I eagerly await another entry. I wonder though, if he can pull off another one equal to the first one. This story continues the tale of the residents of the apartment building where it all started and ties up a few loose ends rather nicely. Great characters, editing, and plot make for an excellent short story. Now, maybe Harry and Cody?
