This story had every element a good story should have. An exciting plot, attention to detail, but best of all fleshed out, well-written and well-rounded character development. I grew very fond of both Cassie and Ronnie while reading this, and I cared about them, cared what happened to them and cheered them on as they outsmarted the scheming adults around them. Yet despite being extraordinarily intelligent, and each possessing a special gift, they were also fully believable, i.e. they weren't one-dimensional, they had layers, each possessing various insecurities and doubts common to their age (except more so because they had numerous people of questionable ethics on their backs).And Cassie was absolutely fantastic. As a woman (and the mother of a daughter) I find it wonderful that the lead protagonist of this story is a smart, savvy, capable and empowering young girl. We don't see nearly enough of them in modern media and it was a breath of fresh air to see one here. Many kudos and thanks to the author for that!
You can't do wrong with this one - I highly recommend it!

I chose five stars, this is the first book of this series, and the author built a tight and convincing story. Along with great characters , the plot is fast paced. a great read, on to book two.
This is an awfully written attractive story by Eric Drouant which kept me busy reading for few hours. Eric has taken care to maintain the flow of the story smoothly without much disturbance which helps to keep the readers stick to it. The story built upon Ronnie Gilmore and Cassie Reynold who are the main two characters in the story provides enough twists and turns to a continuous read. The plot is something unique compared to other regular publications at . I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend this to anyone who love reading thriller.
It kept my interest, in spite of wanting to rewrite so many sentences to make them flow better. The author seriously needs to get acquainted with the past perfect tense, and other points of grammar. The kids who are the main characters are interesting; the others less so, mainly because they were so easily outwitted.
Eric is an author I will be keep an eye out for and will take a keen interest in his works. The plot is as original as it gets and although it is somewhat ambitious, in the end, the author manages to pull it off convincingly. I enjoyed the character trajectory of Cassie and I think there is an underlying social commentary about the power of Governments somewhere in there )

This story is an absolute nailbiter. What intrigued me the most was the sense of constantly growing danger.
Cassie and Ronnie act very maturely for 13-year-olds, but you can clearly see why. They're facing real danger, and not only they involuntarily put themselves in danger, their families are also under threat.
I enjoyed the supernatural element of the story very much and I would love to see it come into play later in the series as well as the relationship between Ronnie and Cassie, because obviously, those two are not just friends anymore and I think this factor could be a significant plot element later on.
I would also love to find out if there are more kids like the main characters, but most of all, if they will use their abilities for something more phenomenal on a larger scale.
This is a well crafted supernatural thriller. Fans of this genre will love sinking their teeth into this one! This absorbing and attention-grabbing work had me engaged from the beginning. The story flows from scene to scene effortlessly, and the author shows exceptional ability when it comes to storytelling.
As much as this genre can be predictable, I found this paranormal tale to be refreshingly original. There are twists and turns in this page turner that will take the reader on a mystic and thrilling journey.
It's one of those rare stories that come along that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. I'm giving nothing away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery! I'm very much looking forward to book 2 in the series.

Eric Drouant begins the tale of two thirteen year olds who are very smart, and have that little "something extra".
Little did anyone know, that "something extra " was an ability that could be developed and used. A paranormal ability.
Very well written, the juxtaposition of thirteen year olds experience and thoughts versus an unimaginable ability that adults covet to utilize., is very poignant.
This is the first book of at least three. If the others are as well written, and grounded, this will be a very popular series. And, I can just imagine the movies.
